jdwallingtons specializes in producing handmade primitive style home, office,LARP and Reenactment camp decor.

jdwallingtons started out in December 2011 and like most home based businesses I started with on money and a few wooden pallets. Believe it or not the idea came to me as I stood in my back yard crying because we just had a new baby girl and we had to bring her home with no electric in our rental house because I just couldn’t find any work. As I stood in my back yard crying and asking God what should I do, I grabbed a hammer and began hammering on an old wooden pallet that was leaning against our shed in-order to release some stress, I thought, if I could just hit something I might feel better, lo and behold before the day was over, I had ran an electric cord from my neighbors house, pulled out all my tools and hammered, sawed and sanded that old wooden pallet into a rather nice looking wooden tray, Thus and idea was born.

Never let it be said that God has forgotten you, because just when I think it's all over, He will show you something Amazing, the funny part about it is, those old pallets were leaning against the shed when we moved in the house, Almost like GOD had a plan from the beginning and he was waiting on me to see it, and let me tell you friends
I SAW IT and I’ve never looked back.

With the help of a few friends and a whole lot of praying, I started building trays, boxes, crates, coat racks, shelves and old style raisin drying boards, taking them to local flea markets and selling them and it was truly all good, and once I had enough product built up I started selling them on line, and it was even better.
That was five years ago and I’m still hanging in there.

Now I know that’s not what you expected, but the Truth never is.
In my old church, back in North Carolina we use to sing a song and it went something like this
( God has away that’s mighty sweet just lay you burdens down at his feet )
Not a day goes by that I don’t remember how I got started and I hope and pray I never forget
God knows the heart, and if you just hold on Help will come, and if your anything like we were it may already be there, just waiting on you to see it.
